Panoramic Photography

This page of the web site currently holds some of a collection of panoramic photographs I have taken in the last few years. The file sizes are quite large as often these panoramic's consist of 4-6 4 Megapixel images stitched together. They were all taken with various cameras we own. All were taken without the help of a tri-pod as they were usually spontaneous photos, so the quality is not always excellent. It will probably get a bit worse as you work your way down the list, and back in time.

The photos are taken at various events and locations. There are pictures at several baseball stadiums including Fenway Park in Boston, the Rogers Centre in Toronto Canada, and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. There are also some pictures of various thoroughbred racing tracks we have visited including Finger Lakes Racetrack, Saratoga, and Golden Gate Fields in California.

Lake Champlain from Burlington Vermont

A panoramic view of Lake Champlain from the dock in Burlington Vermont. Having never been to Vermont, June seemed like a good time to go. We went on the Magic Hat Brewery Tour, Ben And Jerry's Tour, watched a sunset, and took the ferry to the Adirondacks on our drive home. We had a great time.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards

A panoramic view of Orioles Park. This photo is taken from a public standing area in Right field. I watched half an inning from this area. It is beneficial to be tall to stand here. View is good though.

Baltimore Harbor

Another panoramic of the Baltimore Harbor. The submarine Torsk is visible docked outside the Aquarium. There is a park atop the hill in the photo center. Oriole Park is off to the right with downtown Baltimore.

Fingerlakes Snocross

This is a panoramic I took during the Fingerlakes Snocross event at the racetrack in Farmington, NY. It was early on and the stands really filled in for the later races. It was a really fun time, hope to go again, and dress warmer next year. Temp was 18 degress, 10-15mph winds.

Letchworth State Park

This is a photo I took looking down into the gorge at Letchworth State Park. The Genesee River flows through Letchworth on its way tot he Mount Morris Dam. The colors were a little past peak, but its still impressive.

Lake Ambajejus, Millinocket Maine

This is a photo of Ambajejus Lake near Millinocket Maine. The lake is drained in the winter time. To the center right of the photo, Mount Khatadin can be seen in the distance. To the far right, you can see a green pickup truck on the "beach". In the back right is the green barier where the Ambajejus beach area is.

Lake Millinocket in the Fall

This photograph was taken by my wife while visiting in her grandparents in Millinocket Maine. This shot was taken from their camp on the lake. To the left is Mount Khatadin, it has a covering of snow. This shot is similar to one taken last year by myself in the summer time.

Mount Morris Ski Center

This summer I took a trip up "Big Tupper", an old ski center that hasn't been used in several years. I bushwhacked my way to the summit, and then found a road all the way back down. This photo was taken on the summit right near the Fire Tower. It spans about 300 degrees round. The views of the peaks are amazing. To the left (East), the cloud covered peak is Whiteface. To the right is Goodman and Coney. You can also pick out a survey marker next to a metal post on the left side of the picture, and a ski pole top on the right. I told you it was an old ski center...

Mount Morris Ski Center

This summer I took a trip up "Big Tupper", an old ski center that hasn't been used in several years. I bushwhacked my way to the summit, and then found a road all the way back down. Go Figure. I had a great time, and the views were spectacular. Here is a photo of one of the old ski lifts. The town of Tupper Lake is to the right.

Millinocket Lake, Maine

This Photograph is about a 270 degree view from the shores of Lake Millinocket. Taken from the Camp of the Mayor of the Mountain, Hubert "Frenchy" Voisine. The Mountain in the distance at Left is Baxter Peak, or Katahdin. I hiked it over the course of 8 hours 2 days previously.

Not quite as nice as the Knife Edge Panoramic, but this shot shows the summit of Baxter before heading down. There is snow still to the left, as well as the appalacian trail down the peak. To the middle and right side is the Saddle Trail down.

Katahdin, Knife Edge
July 2ND, 2008

I took this panoramic from the Sumit of Pamola Peak at around 8:00am July 2nd. I would follow the ridge from left to right, reaching the summit of Katahdin by 9:30am. The trail is known as the Knife Edge because of the near verticle drop off either side of the trail. I worked my way back down the Saddle Trail to the right of the photo.

This picture is taken from a terrace that overlooks a garden and fountains at Longwood Gardens near Thornton PA. I visited with my wife and mother in law while down there for vacation. The gardens and conservatory are spectacular.

Camden Yard - Home of the Baltimore Orioles, Maryland

My wife, Brother in Law, and his wife all headed down to Baltimore to watch the Boston Red Sox take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yard. It was a very hot day, game time temperature was 92 degrees. It is a beautiful stadium, and the second time I've been there for a game. This time the Red Sox lost off a walk off three run homer by Kevin Millar.

Building 23 - No More, Kodak Park

Photo taken from where Building 23 used to stand in Kodak Park. Photography is prohibited in the park, except for when the implosions were occurring, so I took this opportunity to take a quick panoramic image after the building was imploded.

Maplewood Rose Garden, Rochester NY

This panoramic was taken at the Maplewood Rose Garden situated between Lake Avenue and the Genesee River Gorge. You can visit the garden any time, it is located off Driving Park Avenue near the bridge. Each Summer there is a Rose festival at the park. This photo was taken a day or two before that festival. That's the Eastman Kodak Company's Hawkeye plant in the distance, currently leased by ITT Industries Space Systems Division.

FIRST Robotics Competition, RIT Field House
March 10TH, 2007

The FIRST High School Robotics Program Finger Lakes Robotics Competition was held at RIT's Gordon Field House. This year's game, titled "Rack 'N' Roll", challenged high school teams to design and build robots that can pick-up donut-shaped pool floats and place them on a star-like ten-foot-tall structure on the playing field. The teams had a limited six-week period to design, build and test their robots. This photo was taken from the observation level surrounding the playing field during the championship round. Veterans Park, Massachusetts

This is a panoramic photograph taken at Veterans Park in Hyannis Massachusetts. The harbor is located on Cape Cod, in a beautiful park by the ocean. The beach is less crowded than others, and the view is great. It is also nice to view the Korean War Veterans Memorial nearby.

This is a panoramic photograph taken near the entrance of Big Basin Red Woods Park near Sunnyvale California. I took it around 8am on my way down the narrow switchbacks to the park entrance. The fog is still gathered in the valleys, and the sun would soon burn it off.

This is a photo from our seats on "The Ninety" at Watkins Glen International Raceway. We were at the race for the first Indy Car race at Watkins Glen. It was won by Scott Dixon on a cold 50 degree overcast day.

This is a panoramic photograph of Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It was taken on July 30th during a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the World Champion Boston Red Sox. It was a sweltering 94 degrees at the game. Matt Clement was the pitcher, and the Red Sox won.

This is a rather poor panoramic I attempted from the pit grandstands at Watkins Glen International Raceway. I was at the track for a free practice session and attempted this panoramic of the Penske Team Pit Area from very close range. That accounts for the lack of smoothness in the photo, still interesting though, and an interesting place to be.
